Things to do

The South Hams of Devon is one of the Country's most popular holiday destinations. Ashprington is an ideal base from which to explore the area. There is something to offer everyone on our doorstep from Totnes with its shops, Dartmouth for boats and Dartmoor for something more wild!

All of South Devon's idyllic beaches are within easy reach including, Bantham, Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands.

The rugged North Devon coast is easily reached for a day trip.

We can provide recommendations for most activities but here are some of our (and our childrens') favourite places to eat:

Within 5-15 minutes walk:

The Waterman's Arms - Lovely pub 10 minutes walk down the road from the village. Next to Bow Bridge with a garden overlooking the river - http://thewatermansarms.net

The Malsters arms - Friendly pub with excellent food (it used to be owned by Keith Floyd!). Just a short stoll down lovely country lanes and along the river. http://www.tuckenhay.com/

The Durant Arms - The village pub just a short walk up the road.

Slightly further afield

The Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island - Perfect for refreshments after a day on Bigbury Beach  http://www.burghisland.com/subpages/pilchard.html

The Venus Cafe, Blackpool Sands- cafe on Blackpool Sands. Ideal for lunches or dinner following a day on the beach. http://www.lovingthebeach.co.uk/blackpool-sands/
